I was looking for something simple, safe area, walking to shop, no hidden charges, for a long stay with the children. I think Capitol Hill Suites meet this requirement - convenient to subway, free wifi, simple breakfast (perhaps simpler than I expected, but at least we had the option not to dine out), a microwave (but no stove), we can even walk from the hotel through the Mall.
The housekeeping is horrible. I will say this is the most horrible one in my experience with any hotel rated above 2 stars. They didn't even fold the sofa bed, clean out trashes. And if we left our clothes on the bed, the clothes were simply being pushed aside (no folding). Everyday we came back from the city trip and the room is messy. Also, the bathroom is too small. There were two times we had things falling into toilet (the racks were place right above toilet). This is a nice quiet neighborhood, depending on your travel need, this might not be the best shopping area in town.

The hotel is stylish and fairly clean, nestled in a lovely building with great view of St Peter's Cathedral. The venue has brand-new rooms and extremely friendly staff in the most friendly and professional manner. Continental breakfast offers lots of delicious food choices. 15 minutes drive to the airport, it is located close to the major attractions.

The proximity to the Capitol - I had to attend a ceremony at the HHS building and this was very convenient.

I was mainly there for the facilities. However, the staff has been most friendly.
The wifi connection is patchy sometimes.

Wherw should I start? I think everything was amazing. Let's start with the staff, they were friendly, polite and provide good service. Room was big, comfortable, clean and well equiped. There were a large bed, kitchen corner (with dishes, coffee maker, microwave oven, fridge and sink), sofa and desk. And breakfasts were also great.

The location
Staff were not polite or kindI still need a reciept for my bill. They told me that only you can give me the reciept because payment was performed through you - bt the way they did it was truly hostile

We had a blast in our spacious Superior Suite with a comfy king bed and a pull-out queen sofa that our son adored. We really enjoyed unwinding in the lounge with our takeout and the fun game room was a nice touch too. Parking was a bit tricky at first, but overall, we loved our stay-just keep an eye out for parking options 😄

Great location, right at the start off the mall. Around the corner on 2nd and Pen Ave there are restaurants, Starbucks, great family owned bar/restaurant, great little wine shop.
Our stay came with breakfast, but nobody told us that for breakfast we had to walk outside reception, 50m down the road back into another part off the hotel. So we found some coffee, croissant and an apple at the reception and thought that was breakfast :( The next day we found out through some other guests and the breakfast room is amazing! Bagels, bread, cereals, patisseries, juices, jams & other condiments, coffee, teas!

Very good location, good sized rooms, decent breakfast, very good Reception staff.
Room decor and fittings a bit jaded eg wobbly shelves in bathroom. Although breakfasts are ok, there is limited room in breakfast area - could get very crowded with insufficient seating.

An amazing place! Super convenient, just a block from the Metro and lovely surroundings. Clean, spacious rooms, we even had a cozy little kitchenette for snacks!
And don't get me started on the mystery smell in the bathroom!

The staff were helpful and polite, hotel is a good standard and location is great, really close to the sights. There are local bars and cafes nearby. Would definately recommend it, and will be staying there again if in Washington.
